Beef farms that prepare young/lightweight bulls for feedlot finishing using mostly summer pasture are often denoted as stocker operations.  Developed in conjunction with UK Extension Specialists, the purpose of this series is to help farmers maximize gain and profits using “upgrade” practices such as castration, implanting, improved forage (pasture & hay) management, health protocols plus understanding the market.

NEALA Group Mineral Order

The Northeast Area Livestock Assocation is currently taking orders for the summer and fall livestock mineral. Hinton Mills won the bid and the mineral is specail blended to meet UK Beef IRM guidelines.

Three mineral are avalible: A complete basic cow-calf mineral @ $16.40 for 50 LB.

A complete cow-calf mineral with IRG fly control added @$21.20 for 50LB.

A complete cow-calf mineral with Rumensin added @24.50 for 50LB.

Mineral orders must be placed by Friday May 4th.

Five types of Hay Twine are available:

16,000 FT. Sisal @ $44.00

10,000 FT. Sisal @ $44.00

9,000 FT. Sisal @ $44.00

20,000 FT. plastic @ $19.50/ bale

9,000 FT. palstic @ $19.50/ bale
